Cynthia Kemp Obituary

Cynthia Veronica Kemp
October 3, 1950 to May 16, 2024

Cynthia V. Kemp, age 73 passed away on May 16, 2024, at Shoreside Health and Rehabilitation Center located in Miami, FL.

Cynthia Veronica Kemp was born in (Harlem) Manhattan, New York on October 3, 1950. She
was the daughter of the late Johnnie Bell Kemp (Griffin) and the late Samuel Kemp.
Cynthia was a strong woman with a tender heart! Her humble beginnings as a social worker
helped her to develop the skills, she would need in her future purpose of helping others. She
began her career working as a volunteer for Yorks Helping Hands, for the homeless in the mid to
late 80's. By the mid 90's she had transitioned to be the Director of Community Services. She
was helping the homeless and the less fortunate in any way she could for over 20 years. Food runs,
banquets, fundraisers, and workforce education. These were just a few of the amazing programs
she participated in and helped organize. Cynthia Kemp along with the help of Sandy Walker,
local volunteers, community leaders, and countless others made a difference in York, PA, and the
surrounding areas.

Cynthia was a dedicated friend and family member to all she knew and loved! She was a
devout Christian who found her way years ago by giving her life to Jesus Christ and accepting
him into her heart, as her lord and savior. She always had a smile on her face and tried to live life
the best way she knew how. She spent time with her loved ones, listening and dancing to gospel,
walking on the beach, and savoring all the precious moments life had to offer. These were just
some of the things she loved the most!

Cynthia is survived by her children: Tiena McCrary, Kamal McCrary, and Vigil Green Jr. She
is survived by her grandchildren: Raheem McCrary, Jasmine McCrary, Miracle Green, Jordan
Adams, Jade Adams, and Cornell T. Adams III. Three Siblings; Alberta Johnson, Christine Fair,
and George Harper Jr. of Chicago. Cynthia was preceded in death by her three siblings: Nellie
Kemp, Tyrone Kemp, and Alphonso Davis.

Cynthia's wishes were to be cremated and scattered at sea! If any further ceremonies are to be held are decided upon, we will send a notification to attend.

We thank you for your well wishes, prayers, love, and support!
